Mt. Hood's Donohue and Linn-Benton's Hamilton earn West Coast League post season honors
The 2018 All-West Coast League teams and annual awards were recently announced by WCL commissioner Rob Neyer.
Coach of the Year honors were shared by the Kelowna Falcons’ Bryan Donohue and Justin Barchus of the Portland Pickles. Donohue, who also coaches the Mt. Hood Saints, guided the Falcons to the post-season, capped off by an appearance in the WCLCS.
The Falcons and Bellingham Bells were co-recipients of the Jim Dietz Team Sportsmanship Award.
The Corvallis Knights and Kelowna Falcons were tied as the most represented squad on the All-WCL first team, each featuring three selections.
Knights catcher Cole Hamilton was named to the WCL first team. Hamilton, who will be a sophomore at Linn-Benton this coming season, hit .349 and posted a .985 fielding percentage.
