NWAC names Alli Krous to be Director of Operations

image  of Alli KrousVANCOUVER, Wash. Alexandra (Alli) Krous has been named Director of Operations of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), effective October 2.

Krous, who currently serves as the project coordinator for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), succeeds Garet Studer, who is now the Director of Athletics at Everett Community College.

Krous has served at the WIAA since 2011. Her roles included enrollment coordinator, assistant director of the WIAA Hall of Fame, social media manager, website manager and assisted on various championship events. She was also the advisor for the WIAA LEAP Committee and was heavily involved in the student leadership council. She served on the Arts & Sciences Graduate Council for two years (Co-President for one year) at Seattle University as well as the Graduate Student Council as Vice Chair for Finance & Strategic Planning for a year.

Marco Azurdia, Executive Director of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) said, “Alli is a great fit for the NWAC as we continue to move forward. She brings years of successful experience in key areas of event management, social media management and student leadership development. I have worked with Alli in the past on collaborative projects between the NWAC and the WIAA and found that she is highly organized, detailed with high standards and initiative in her endeavors. Most importantly, Alli is passionate about creating high quality student-athlete experiences.”

Krous a Yakima, Washington native was a two-time all-conference midfielder for the highly successful Walla Walla Community College women’s soccer team during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. She scored a combined 35 goals and dished out 25 assists for the Warriors while helping the program reach the NWAC Championship match two years in a row.

Following her two years at WWCC, Krous transferred to the University of Maine and competed at the D1 level for two years in soccer and track and field.

Krous also excelled in the classroom at both levels, earning sophomore all-academic honors in the NWAC and was named to the America East Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and was a Maine Scholar-Athlete *Rising Star*.

After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Maine in Exercise Science, Krous earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Leadership from Seattle University in 2013.

Krous has a twin sister, Cassi, who played soccer at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington and her father, Steve, played baseball at Yakima Valley College.
