Green River's Katelyn Nugent inks to play volleyball for Manhattan College in 2012

Auburn, WA -- Green River volleyball standout Katelyn Nugent (6’1, SO, Thomas Jefferson HS) signed her official NCAA national letter of intent to participate at Manhattan College in Manhattan, New York.  The Jaspers play in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference where head coach Mark Jones plans to play Nugent as a middle hitter.

Nugent was a first team All-Western Region performer for the Gators leading the team in kills, kill percentage, and blocks in 2012.  Katelyn, an All-NWAACC academic performer and consistent presence on the GRCC athletic director honor roll, will continue her studies in Business Administration.

“We are thrilled for Katelyn and her family to realize the dream of advancing to the highest level of volleyball brought about from years of work,” stated Athletic Director Bob Kickner. “Katelyn came into her own last season and Coach Densley brought the most out of her.  A quality student athlete, and person, the GRCC family is proud to be a part of her journey.”
