Spokane Holds off Skagit Valley for Third Straight Men's Tennis Title
Spokane, WA- Spokane and Skagit Valley battled it out for the 2012 NWAACC Men's tennis title in Spokane. Despite not scoring any team points in the number one singles slot, Spokane narrowly defeated the Cardinals 111-104 to win their third consecutive NWAACC tennis title.
In the final matches, Spokane and Skagit Valley faced off in only three championship matches. The Sasquatch won each of those match-ups. In total, Spokane ended up winning six of the nine titles while Skagit Valley claimed only two.
Skagit Valley's Riley Newman won the men's number one singles championship He defeated Shoreline's Yasser Kahn 6-4, 6-1. Kahn teamed up with Alex Casper to claim number one doubles title over Newman and Zach Armenta. Casper also won the number two singles title.
